I really don’t know what to say about this server.
Positives:
-Custom stuff. REALLY COOL. It has a bunch of custom hairs that is offered. Alongside with that, it has items from future Maplestory versions (I really adored the bird cape and feather earring). It’s very fashionable and makes your character look better on another level.
-Active forums. There are people that quit the server but hang around the forums to help out new players. This is a very helpful aspect because usually I look onto the forums for starter advice. If I had a question, it would be answered in less than 5 minutes.
-Okay community. In my opinion, it depends on who you want to hang out with (please continue reading in the negatives). I’ve chosen my friends wisely and I’m glad I have.
-Sensible GMs. The GMs on this server have a sense of right or wrong. But they’re not great.
-Ventrilo. SO SO FUN. I spent most of my time chatting and making friends on vent. Although it’s basically split into social groups, it’s a blast to talk on ventrilo. If you don’t have a mic, no problem! You can listen in to the convo and type in what you’re going to say. It’s very active and veryfun to be in.
-Amazing Radio! It’s down now, but I hope they find a way to bring it back. The DJs are hilarious and the music they bring to the players is awesome. Although sometimes I disagree with the taste, it shows how diverse this server is.
-Pretty interesting voting system. Most of the stuff, such as mounts, chairs, and other custom items, are obtained through voting. I guess this could be a negative too? It kinda explains why VMS is in the top 50 of gametop100 rankings. Players constantly vote for items.
Negatives:
-Social hierarchy. There is a HUGE popularity contest on this server. If you’re a nobody, you’re a nobody. Really, it’s not going to change. The usual new GMs seem to be the ones that are “cool”. Although there are other applicants with more experiences, I’ve read them in the forums, the majority of the GMs have no experience at all. Going back on topic, I’ve witnessed people that were nobodies becoming into somebodies. I saw a noob that was first ignored. He was rebellious and really seemed to have a negative view. Then a week later, he acted all girly and lovingly to the GMs ONLY. The “cool” kids were around him, and that was his group of friends. The FM is split in half. You’re really nothing unless you become something…which leads me to my next negative.
-GM clingers. I hate them with the most extreme passion. It’s probably the main reason I refuse to be a GM again. The group of “popular kids” in this server is the people who kiss up to GMs. They act nice and stuff to the GM when one pops out. When a GM goes away, they’re mean. Seriously. They ignore helpless noobs and stick to their little group of “cool kids”. They think they’re all that being warped. CONSTANTLY it’s like their job to stalk a GM. I was sitting with my good friend, who is a GM (only one I respected), and out comes like 6 of them from the portal. They sit on the opposite side of the map and started chatting. Uh, hello?
-Bad Attitude GMs. The majority of the GMs here have an attitude issue. Not all of them, but a majority. They seem to put personal opinions rather than the job’s need. If you yell at a GM’s friend, even though I had nothing to do with the GM, you’d be jailed. If you gave a GM a small bad comment, you’d be jailed. If it was a personal problem between you and the GM, you’d be jailed. It doesn’t make sense. I thought a GM’s job was to control the players, not anger them more? Instead of fighting back, just calm the player down and accept their comment. If it’s constant, who cares? A GM’s role is to be a role model to players. Don’t give the players attitude.
-FM rules. This isn’t my dislike, but I seem to have realized this rule has played a role. I was sitting in the free market and I saw a girl rant about cursing in the FM. It’s weird. I understand not cursing on smegas, but why not in the forums? If you curse or swear in the free market, you’ll end up in jail for about an hour. What if that was a person’s culture? I’m pretty sure in the city it’s natural to speak with curses.
This isn’t one of my favorite servers, but I really did meet some cool friends.

SodaMS v75
On a personal level, this server was my home server when it was v62. It is currently down now, but I’m sure that it will be up soon with new updates and all that.
Positives:
-Great community. The people you meet there are amazing. Whether they’re mean or the nicest person ever, they will stand down to help you. I guess it’s the small community that makes things better. Everyone knows each other. Not only that, but there are no different groups to fit a popularity level at all. Everyone is friends with each other and I’ve yet to see hate. I’m not saying it’s a clean and perfect server; there have been problems of course. But, they’re rare and usually the whole day would be spent with something new.
-GM response is wonderful. When you have a problem, a GM will come to your aid immediately. Not only that, but the GMs are fun to be with and they’ll spend time with players. They know when to host an event at a timely order. The majority of the GMs in this server have a great attitude maintained (even if they’re in a bad mood). They put their business & job above all.
-Active forums that are not a complete mess. I like the way it’s formatted to make my life easier. Also, the background changes every holiday, making it more colorful and fun.
-When you need help, it’s there. This is just an add-on to the great community, but it’s the truth. The majority of the people will help each other and it makes the server feel homey.
My overall positive input is, once again, the community.
Negatives:
-VERY small community. I guess things changed when it turned into v75. Many people left from v62 and mostly everyone who plays goes to train. That’s it. Sitting in the FM is boring now. It’s quiet and there are no player interactions (unless you’re training in a party, of course). You’ll begin to feel lonely.
-Updates are very slow. I’m not sure if the admin has a life and all, but the updates seem to be more of fixing glitches instead of making new changes to bring in more players. I guess that’s a great idea too, but maybe having more coders would make the work less hard on the admin. That way, things would work faster and flow more.
-EXTREMELY GMS LIKE. If you like it, fine. But, I myself am not a big fan of it. Lack of commands and very slow updates.
-When there are fights, they’re rough. Not physically of course, but it’s the most dramatic. Rumors that fly around the server are very awkward and surprising. In fact, I’m not sure if they’re true. But when I witness it myself, 90% of the rumors that fly are both scary, disturbing, and true.
My overall negative is that this server doesn’t seem to be advancing or growing. I will edit this when it’s up once again to see if I’m proven wrong. It’s not up yet, so until then this is my review.

Farmerstory v75/v83
Let's start with a famous server known as Farmerstory, formly named SydneyMS.
This was the first “popular” server I’ve joined. It was number 2 in the gametop100 rankings when I first saw it (currently number 22). Why the sudden plummet in numbers? I’m not sure myself when this happened, but maybe my point of view may clear things up.
Positives:
-FMS is VERY unique. I really mean it. It was the first server I’ve joined to present to me the option of occupations. There were a variety of occupations to choose from such as Gamer, Gambler, NX wh—e, Homeless, Suck-up, Hunter, and so on so forth.
-Every NPC needed was located all in Henesys (with a handy command @henesys). It completely replaced the FM for the coolest place to hang out!
-The chicken system was also a first too, where the whole server basically fueled on chicken economy. It made mesos seem worthless. After all, one chicken was nearly the max amount of mesos.
-The things that could’ve been done were unlimited, too. What was pretty famous around FMS that I’ve also haven’t seen is the introduction of FASHION SHOWS. Where a small group of players or a guild holds an “event” in the free market or Maya’s house. Then, they gather a sufficient amount of people and announce a theme. The ones participating change into outfits that correspond with the theme and are then judged by the hosts. If they pass with the “passing” amount of points, they move on. If not, they are disqualified. The prizes would be very high, making it both easy and difficult to get chickens.
-UFJ. Enough said.
My overall best positive input on this is that this server is definitely NOT GMS. It always updates with new imputs!
Negatives:
-DRAMA. Everywhere. Every day. There’s always a fight over something basically useless.
-Abusers. You ever had those people who are bored and ALWAYS seem to want to screw around with you? Yeah, this server is loaded with those type of people. In fact, because of a NX wh—re skill with bombing and skills, me and my friends have been randomly bombed and killed multiple times for no apparent reason. It’s stupid and annoying. Along with bombers, comes cloners. Those who clone make multiples of them and then use skills. The LAGG is intense and at some point, I was forced to leave the game.
-Sometimes the community isn’t so great. You’re not sure who is who and if you can trust anyone.
-You never really see the GMs in action. It’s rare when they host an event. They never seem to really do much besides hanging with their “friends”. Every time I see a GM pop up, they come and sit next to their friend and chat. It seems like the autoban machine works harder than the GMs. I’m not sure if they work undercover or something or not announce their bans. Point is, I never see them help out.
-Popularity contest. Yeah, it’s real here. The only thing that makes you “cool” is if you know a GM. Which, I find lame. I’ve witnessed people who were nobodies become someone “cool” after making friends with a GM.
My main negative point is that overtime, the server gets really boring. It’s the same thing every day and you will have nothing to do. I guess you can go make more friends because of the massive amount of players, but like I stated before you need to be careful of who is who. Sometimes people even ignore you because they think they’re that awesome.
Lame.

Hello Maplers.
Well, unless you're just spending your free time here, then welcome viewer.
This a blogspot site about how I view certian private servers.
Keep in mind, this is all opinion and if you'd like you can visit the servers yourself to see. If you'd like, you can even comment on my blog topic going against me. I'm fine.
This is just to inform others about what they'll expect or will witness themselves.
Keep in mind, I am more of a negative person, BUT I try to be positive.
Enjoy,
Mistique
